After complete reconditioning in my shop, this sweet Kawai studio plays like new. Smooth responsive touch. Lovely voicing. Full dynamic response. Vintage 1916 Chickering baby grand piano is a delight! I’ve recently done signifcant reconditioning work on this piano in my shop. Work has included:

Kawai Studio Piano – SOLD

This Kawai studio piano was built in Japan in 1973. I recently completed reconditioning of this fine piano in my shop.

I have performed the following services on this piano:

Upon completion of reconditioning, I’ve played this piano for many hours, and I have found it to be a delight. The action is silky smooth, giving the pianist delicate control and full dynamic response.

This piano is an excellent purchase for  beginning and intermediate piano students.   Kawai produced this model with the school  market in mind.  You will find later editions of this model everywhere in universities, schools, and churches.  It’s simple lines make it a nice fit anywhere.

The result is a new life for a fine old instrument.  This is a piano for the serious musician on a budget.  The touch is silky smooth, and the sound is full throughout the range –  something you won’t find in smaller instruments.  You can buy a piano with a prettier case, but you’ll spend many times more to get a better instrument!

This Yamaha P202 was built in 1987 at Yamaha’s Thomaston, Georgia factory.   It’s had an easy life in a Utah home.

I have performed the following on this piano to recondition it for sale:

This piano is an excellent purchase for  beginning and intermediate piano students.   Yamaha produced this model with the school  market in mind.  You will find this model (and its sister P22) everywhere in universities, schools, and churches.  It’s simple lines make it a nice fit anywhere.   When new, the current P22 model has a list price of  $5,999.  When you come play this piano, you’ll find that that it plays and sounds like a new Yamaha.   You will find some normal wear on the case, but you’ll also need to look carefully to find flaws.

1939 Howard Baldwin – SOLD

November 6th, 2010

The Howard Baldwin which I reconditioned has been sold and delivered. I returned to the home in Layton recently for a second tuning, and snapped these photos:





It’s a nice little piano, and my customer is very happy with it. It’s a good size for her space, and its size works well for the chamber music she performs.
